Peer Support Mentoring in Eastbourne and Surrounding Areas
Here at Calm Journey Therapy, Peer Support Mentoring can be used as a process on its own, or in conjunction with Psychotherapy and Counselling. With this support available, it can ensure that clients are supported between therapy sessions, and can help them action solutions they may have created in their therapy sessions.
Peer Support may be defined as the help and support that people with lived experience of a mental illness are able to give to one another. It may be social, emotional or practical support (or all of these)
The key elements of Peer Support Mentoring are built on shared personal experience and empathy. It focuses on an individual’s strengths not weaknesses, and works towards the individual’s wellbeing and (in the case of certain mental health problems) recovery.
Peer Support Mentoring is tailored to the client and will be discussed either with your Mentor or in conjunction with your Therapist.
