Jo
My name is Jo, I’m a Person Centred counsellor here at Calm Journey Therapy.
I’m often told I’m a good listener, non-judgmental, warm, empathic and open, especially within my current career. But it wasn’t until a friend’s daughter at Uni reached out in crisis did I realise how important my listening really was. This was a turning point in my life and where my counselling journey began.
I see adults (over 18’s) who may need support with: anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, low or no confidence, stress, bereavement, relationship issues or breakups, family issues, work issues/pressures, bullying, health issues, trauma, addictions, PTSD, neurodiversity, identity.
A relaxed, warm, go at your own pace atmosphere set in the serene surroundings of the Calm Journey Practice, no pressure or expectation, a private space to talk without fear of judgement or interruption. Building trust and connection together.
I practice and believe in Person-Centred Therapy because the answers we seek are within ourselves, working together to process and better understand yourself, a journey of self-discovery. My client ethos is all about self-empowerment, which aligns with the therapy I believe in.
If you’d like to reach out by phone or our online form to see if I am the right counsellor for you, or have any questions, please use the contact details below. No pressure, no obligation, 15 mins of free chat. At Calm Journey we offer short-term or long-term therapy.
My primary focuses include:

Person Centred
Person-centred therapy, also known as person-centred or client-centred counselling, is a humanistic approach that deals with the ways in which individuals perceive themselves consciously, rather than how a counsellor can interpret their unconscious thoughts or ideas.
