Hello, I’m Louise at Calm Journey. I offer counselling and
psychotherapy to individuals and groups.
My approach is to offer a welcoming and confidential space where we can build the trust
between us and work together for a deeper understanding of the issues you bring and look at
changes you may want to make.
I have worked in psychiatry and psychological services for over 20 years in the NHS, for
voluntary organisations and in private practice.
My background was initially as a registered mental health nurse and I went on to complete 4
years training in Transactional Analysis Practice, now working in the field of counselling and
I use a client-centred, holistic and eclectic approach with all the people I interact with;
ensuring I am respectful, positive, congruent and consistent in my approach. I prioritise the
building the therapeutic relationship collaboratively and relationally with the client.
I belong to the UK Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA) and the UK Council for
Psychotherapy (UKCP) and follow their ethical and professional codes of conduct.
Transactional analysis is a form of modern psychology that examines a person's relationships and interactions. In therapy, transactional analysis can be used to address one's interactions and communications with the purpose of establishing and reinforcing the idea that each individual is valuable and has the capacity for positive change and personal growth.
