Lou

Hey, I’m Lou (she/her)

Counsellor in Eastbourne & Online at Calm Journey

A lot of clients ask how I actually work, and the honest answer is that no two people are the same. I offer counselling for adults aged 18+ in Eastbourne, across East Sussex, online, and by phone. Therapy is tailored to you, your needs, and your pace.

My core approach is Person-Centred Therapy. This means I won’t tell you what to do or try to “fix” you. Instead, I provide a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly, feel heard, and begin to understand yourself more deeply. Many clients find that when they feel truly accepted, change starts to happen naturally.

Some clients come wanting space simply to talk and be listened to. Others prefer more guidance, practical tools, or gentle structure. I work flexibly depending on what feels helpful for you. Where appropriate, I may draw on grounding tools for anxiety, solution-focused questions, creative resources, or trauma-informed ways of working that focus on safety and pacing.

I also work in a neurodivergent-affirming way, recognising that different minds process, communicate, and experience the world in different ways. Together, we can adapt therapy so it feels accessible, respectful, and supportive for you.

I support adults with anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, identity, health challenges, and neurodivergence.

Sessions are £40 for 50 minutes, with some reduced-cost spaces available. I also offer a free 15-minute introductory chat so you can see if we feel like the right fit.

Outside of counselling, I’m a mum of two and understand how busy, demanding, and layered life can feel at times. I know how valuable it can be to have a space that is just for you.

I’m a registered member of the BACP, fully DBS checked, and trained in suicide awareness through the Orange Button scheme.

My primary focuses include:
Humanistic / Person Centred

My primary approach is Person-Centred counselling, a humanistic form of therapy that focuses on your unique experience and how you understand yourself.

As a person-centred therapist in East Sussex, I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Rather than analysing or diagnosing, I work alongside you to help you make sense of what’s going on in a way that feels right for you.

I support adults (18+) with anxiety, overwhelm, low mood, life changes, and feeling stuck, both online and face-to-face in Eastbourne, Pevensey, and across East Sussex.

My approach is neurodivergent-affirming and relational, meaning I adapt to you. Some people want space simply to talk, while others find it helpful to include gentle structure or practical tools, we can work in a way that suits you.
