Jo
My name is Jo, and I’m a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor.
I’ve often been told that I’m a good listener — warm, empathic, non-judgmental, and open. It wasn’t until a friend’s daughter reached out to me in crisis during her time at university that I realised just how powerful listening can be. That moment was the turning point that led me to begin my counselling journey.
I work with adults (18+) who may be experiencing: anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, stress, bereavement, relationship or family difficulties, work pressures, bullying, health issues, trauma, addictions, PTSD, neurodiversity, or identity concerns.
At Calm Journey, I offer a relaxed and welcoming space where you can go at your own pace. There is no pressure or expectation — just a private environment to talk openly without fear of judgment or interruption, where we can build trust and connection together.
I believe the answers we seek are already within us. Through Person-Centred Therapy, we work together to process experiences, build self-understanding, and move towards self-empowerment — a journey of self-discovery that supports healing and growth.
If you’d like to know more, I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute chat (by phone or online) to see if I might be the right counsellor for you. At Calm Journey, we offer both short-term and long-term therapy, depending on your needs.
My primary focuses include:
Humanistic / Person Centred
Person Centred
Person-centred therapy, also known as person-centred or client-centred counselling, is a humanistic approach that deals with the ways in which individuals perceive themselves consciously, rather than how a counsellor can interpret their unconscious thoughts or ideas.
