My name is Jo, I’m a student counsellor training in Person-Centred Therapy.

I’m often told I’m a good listener, non-judgemental, am warm, empathic and open, especially I’m told within my current career. But it wasn’t until a friend’s daughter at Uni reached out in crisis did I realise how important my listening really was. This was a pinnacle turning point in my life and where my counselling journey began.

I support over 18’s who need support with: anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, low confidence, bereavement, relationship issues, work and life pressures. A relaxed warm go at your own pace atmosphere set in the serene surroundings of the Calm Journey Practice, no pressure or expectation, a safe space to talk without judgement or interruption. Building trust and connection, together.

Person-centred therapy, also known as person-centred or client-centred counselling, is a humanistic approach that deals with the ways in which individuals perceive themselves consciously, rather than how a counsellor can interpret their unconscious thoughts or ideas.
